BIOGRAPHY

Through his solo recitals and performances as a member of the Stienway Artist Ensemble Amerklavier, exciting young pianist Stephen Cook has attracted popular and critical attention nationwide as well as abroad. He has performed to great acclaim in cities including New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. In addition, he has concertized in Italy and Japan. His performances have been televised on such programs as WTTW's Chicago Tonight and on South Bend Indiana public television’s documentary Kicking the Notes the Toradze Way. He has also been heard on KBAQ Phoenix Classical Radio and performed live on WFMT Radio Chicago. Hailed for his dynamic approach to concertizing, Mr. Cook has thrilled audiences with synergistic displays of music, art and poetry including a multimedia performance of Rachmaninoff’s complete Etudes-Tableaux op.39. He has received many awards recognizing his accomplishments including scholarships and top prizes in national and international piano competitions. A student of luminary pianists Eteri Andjaparidze and Robert Hamilton, he continues his Doctoral studies at Arizona State University while serving on the piano faculty at Arizona School for the Arts in Phoenix.
